Description
Euronext is company, under Dutch law, that was constituted as a result of a merger between the Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris stock exchanges. It is quoted on the Paris stock exchange. In 2002 it expanded its activity by acquiring the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange, a London-based derivatives market, and the Portuguese stock exchange, the Bolsa de Valores de Lisboa e Porto. At that time, the name of the latter was changed to Euronext Lisbon.

Case description
Notified on 23 October 2006, with effect only on 9 November 2006, this concentration consists of a merger between the activities of NYSE Group Inc. (henceforth "NYSE Group") and Euronext NV (henceforth "Euronext"), at an international level. On the basis of the Combination Agreement signed in accordance with the legislation of the State of Delaware, the two formerly independent undertakings will become subsidiary companies of a joint holding company, NYSE Euronext Inc. (henceforth "NYSE Euronext"), by means of an exchange offer and a merger.
