The economists Jean-Charles Rochet and Jean Tirole, in this report prepared for the AdC, made a literature review on payment card services, given the role of indirect externalities in this sector.
The report also establishes some principles of regulatory and antitrust intervention in the sector, and includes a specific analysis regarding the Portuguese market.
