In May 2015, the media released a set of news referring to a possible “agreement signed between ANTRAL, the Lisbon City Council (CML) and ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal” for the establishment of a single tariff for transport services by taxi from Portela airport. The Portuguese Competition Authority (PCA) recommended to the government not to accept the proposal to establish a single tariff for the provision of taxi services to airports and tourist maritime terminals in Lisbon, under the terms in which it was presented and based on the different elements sent to the PCA under this evaluation, having also recommended to CML and ANA that co-regulation solutions, together with the sectorial associations, should not be established in the market, given the possible risks of negative impact on competition.
